Standard doesn’t have to mean generic.
Apprenticeship standards are designed to be employer-led and learner-centric, which means that the programme’s content should not only help the learner to further their knowledge on the topic as per the standard, but also develop a greater understanding of how it is implemented within the organisation and industry for which they work.
Smarter skills providers are realising the benefits of delivering their own branded, customised apprenticeships. Although these can take more resources and time to create, they have higher retention rates because the content is much better aligned with the knowledge, skills and behaviours that need to be demonstrated in the context of a particular role.
Moreover, because it’s your unique programme and you own the intellectual property, you can make changes and revisions when necessary; it can be delivered to any number of learners without having to pay licence fees for individual users, and it can remain in use for as long as you need it.
Learner Centricity™ is no longer a choice, it’s an obligation.
Webinar classes and PowerPoint courses are trending formats for remote learning, but these learning modes don’t always meet the personalised needs of every learner and can fail to inspire them, resulting in higher drop-out rates. For example, webinars aren’t a very effective way of learning about practical subjects, such as health care.
There is a better way: understanding that the quality and type of content are key differentiators in motivating learners to complete their journey through your course.
We learning designers refer to this as the “stickiness” of content because of its ability to engage and accommodate learners’ unique cognitive and behavioural preferences, while achieving professional development goals that align with wider workforce needs.
We create fully remote or blended learning apprenticeships with higher levels of instructional and interactive design, which means that the same piece of content will provide a valuable learning experience for apprentices of all levels of capability (e.g. beginner, intermediate or advanced) and knowledge. This approach saves you money in the long term while delivering exponential learning benefits.
We can “stickify” your learning content in three core ways:
If you have existing expertise within your organisation, we can work collaboratively with you to develop course content, bringing the required skills, knowledge and ideas to life through our proprietary CollabSmart™ tool, which helps us to amplify learning retention in the flow of work. From concept to launch, we can build a unique learning programme that reflects both your learners’ needs and the employer’s goals.
